voici ce que dit le General Post Office britannique dans sa décision de novembre 1853, applicable en décembre :
“After the departure of the direct contract packet appointed to leave London for Hamburg on the 2nd December, letters for the states below, (which have hither to been conveyed, as a rule, by the Hamburg packet), will be forwarded by this office daily, (Sundays excepted), by the route of Belgium and Prussia, unless specially addressed to be sent by any other route”.

Denmark – 11½d
Norway – 1/5d
Sweden – 1/2d
All these rates per ½oz
½ to 1oz – 2 rates
1 to 2oz – 4 rates
Prepayment is voluntary on all the above rates"
